Najmanje su 22 osobe poginule a više od hiljadu je povrijeđenih u snažnom potresu na istoku Turske, gdje su spasioci u subotu izvlačili prve žrtve iz ruševina…

 

 

Najmanje je trideset ljudi ostalo pod ruševinama nakon snažnog potresa magnitude 6,8 koji je u petak oko 20.55 sati (18.55 sati po srednjoeuropskom vremenu) pogodio okrug Sivrice, u pokrajini Elazigu.

 

AFAD, vladina agencija za katastrofe, objavila je u subotu ujutro na Twitteru da je iz ruševina dosad spašeno petero preživjelih.

 

Među njima je i trudnica koja je desetak sati bila pod ruševinama, objavila je državna agencija Anadolu.

 

“Bilo je strašno, zgrada se počela rušiti a mi smo istrčali van”, rekao je za AFP Melahat Can (47), stanovnik Elaziga.

 

“Sada smo na farmi izvan grada”, rekao je.

 

Turski predsjednik Recep Tayyip Erdogan rekao je da će se “poduzeti sve potrebne mjere” kako bi se pomoglo stradalom području i da je onamo poslao neke ministre.

 

“Preko naših ustanova, napose AFAD-a i Crvenog polumjeseca, prisutni smo u narodu”, objavio je na Twitteru.

 

Športske dvorane, škole i knjižnice otvorile su vrata svima koji su pobjegli iz svog doma, objavile su vlasti.

 

Turska televizija je objavila snimke stanovnika koji u panici istrčavaju iz svojih zgrada i iz zgrade čiji se krov zapalio.

 

Objavila je i snimke spasilaca koji traže preživjele u ruševinama zgrade.

 

AFAD navodi da je nakon potresa zabilježeno najmanje 30 manjih potresa i da je više od 400 spasilačkih ekipa poslano na teren.

 

Najmanje su 22 osobe poginule, među kojima 17 u pokrajini Elazigu i četiri u susjednoj pokrajini Malatyji, a 1.030 je ozlijeđeno, pokazuju najnoviji podatci AFAD-a.

 

Potres se osjetio na širem području na istoku Turske, pa tako i u Tunceliju, izvijestila je televizijska mreža NTV.

 

Turska je u seizmički najaktivnijem dijelu svijeta pa su potresi relativno česti.

 

Godine 1999. u potresu magnitude 7,4 na sjeverozapadu zemlje poginulo je više od 17.000 ljudi, među kojima tisuću u Istanbulu.
